FAQ
Things to consider before coming to the lab
As a general rule, it is advisable to come to the laboratory fasting, as eating can affect the results of various analyses. However, some analyses require you to observe a strict fast. If in doubt, your GP will be able to advise you. However, there is no problem in drinking water before taking a blood sample; on the contrary, it can make the blood test easier.
Results
The quickest way to obtain your results is via the Customer Portal. As soon as the results are ready, you'll receive an SMS and, using your registration number, you'll be able to consult them online. You have your own portal where you can always see all your exams at a glance. Alternatively, you can receive your results by post, but this can take up to a week.
Prescriptions
A medical prescription for laboratory tests is valid for 2 months from the date of issue. Your doctor can extend a prescription for up to 6 months. Expired prescriptions are not reimbursed by the CNS. However, you can pay the costs yourself or submit a valid prescription within 48 hours for the costs to be endorsed by the CNS.
